Mini update; News w/ side of satire
Shalom.
I'm at the mall having a hot cup of mint tea. It is becoming a favorite Israeli treat, but one I haven't had often.
It reminds me of my grandmother's backyard. She still grows mint back there, and my sister and I used to pluck off leaves to chew. Now, I fish out a leaf to chew from the hot brew.
It's been a whirlwind of spiritual activity here for me... that is one reason I've been fairly silent on the blog. Also, Sunday I lost access to the Internet from my apartment. I came home to find the signal I'd been using locked. That is why I find myself posting from the mall.
Tacked on to the end of this post is today's edition of "News with a Side of Satire."
Prayer requests- Internet restored... though I wonder if this outage was by God's design so that I'd focus on Him at home, unencumbered by the Web's distractions. Pray that His will be done here and that I submit to it.
- Sleep. I've had trouble sleeping for three days. I think I finally hit the source last night. I believe my mind is trying to process what only the spirit can comprehend. The subconscious is so consumed trying to decipher what the Lord's been showing me that it won't disengage for sleep. Once I prayed for peace in my mind, I did sleep deep last night.
I pray you all have rest and more of Yeshua every day. Shalom.News with a Side of SatireOPINION - Millions of Iranians take to the streets to defy a theocratic dictatorship that, among its other finer qualities, is a self-declared enemy of America and the tolerance and liberties it represents. The demonstrators are fighting on their own, but they await just a word that America is on their side. And what do they hear from the president of the United States? Silence. - WASHINGTON POST WRITERS GROUP
Jewish neighborhoods in east Jerusalem are included in the U.S. demand that Israel halt "settlement" construction, including for natural growth, State Department spokesman Ian Kelly said Monday. "We're talking about all settlement activity, yes, in the area across the line," he said, referring to neighborhoods in Jerusalem over the Green Line, or pre-1967 armistice line. President Barack Obama has called the settlements illegitimate and said that their expansion must stop, including natural growth. - THE JERUSALEM POST
SATIRE - First of all, feminists will not be allowed to mention their status as feminists. A few semesters ago, a feminist student in one of my classes said – right in the middle of class, mind you – “I’m a feminist.” It offended me when she said that. That is why I am banning such statements for the duration of the semester. The simple awareness of the presence of feminists in my classes offends me. No other reason need be offered. Just shut up and comply with the rule. - TOWN HALL.com

i like reading the jerusaelem post as well as jewish world review. good stuff here. i'm keeping you in my prayers regarding your sleep and internet connection. perhaps it's like you said that you were meant to be offline for a bit, but i hope you will be restored back to it soon.
shalom and Yeshua bless you =)
@YouTOme - Thank you.
And the fight goes on.... I love your responsiveness to His Spirit and I pray that you will continue to listen to His voice and be blessed! Thanks for the news clips!!
i love how just a simple prayer for peace of mind can bring on a restful sleep. Maybe it is that God was just needing you to take a break for all the distractions and focus on Him. Even if just for that brief moment. God bless!
Oh that mint tea looks good and I hope that you have your internet access back and are doing better.
We always grew mint in the flower beds when I was growing up. We used it in iced tea. I had some for a long time after we bought this house, but it has died out. I can almost smell it.
Nothing to say, just wanted to let you know I'm still quietly (mostly) along for the ride.
@YoxDan - Thank you, sir.
I will start writing again regularly. Just pressing through some things right now... mostly good things. Shalom.
